Garry Maisel is President and Chief Executive Officer at Western Health Advantage (WHA), the local health insurance plan.  With over 18 years of experience in healthcare, Maisel is suited to lead an organization committed to providing quality health care coverage to local business in the Sacramento region.  Garry has led the local HMO since 1998 from its start-up to current recorded annual revenues of $250 million and a membership of over 75,000 lives.

During start-up, Garry developed WHA’s organizational structure and implemented its financial, business and information systems.  He was a major architect of WHA’s health benefit programs and he assisted with defining WHA’s innovative approach to clinical care management and member access to care, which have differentiated WHA from the competition.  

Garry sits on the boards of various community and professional organizations, including California Association of Health Plans, American Leadership Forum, and Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts in Davis, CA, where he currently serves as Board President.  He holds a degree in finance and economics from Sacramento State University and resides in East Sacramento.
